The Complete and Mostly Accurate
			 History of Strat-O-Matic
as it Pertains to Holbrook, NY
in the Latter Part of the Twentieth Century

			Foreward

It has been about six months since the official end of the Holbrook Strat-O-Matic League.
On September 29, 1997 Mike Aquilina and Dan Falcone (for all intents and purposes
the leaders of the League Elders) declared the League to be officially dead. It was, indeed, an inauspicious
ending to what had been, in its heyday, one of the most successful stories in the world of sports.

It would be anti-climatic to let this passing go by without a proper send-off. It is with this in mind that I have vowed to
write this history/obituary for the league that touched several men as they had never been touched before.

The gamut of emotions experienced by the participants includes (but is not limited to):
pleasure, exhilaration, joy, frustration, anger, bitterness, so much
bitterness, the most bitter of bitterness...why couldn't I win just one damn
			World Series... why... why...

But that is another story. A story within the story. A story which a wise man may say, "has more angles that a
			doorknob."

So put your twenty-sided die in a dice bag and join me in re-living those glorious moments from yesteryear...
